About the Artist
Mercedes Lagunas is a self-taught artist who discovered her love of art while studying Art History at University. Mercedes then embarked on a career as an airline stewardess for 10 years, which enabled her to see the world. Inspired by her travels, she was able to make the transition to her true passion: painting. Mercedes enjoys painting flowers and portraits most of all, and her vibrant images are filled with energy and joy. Besides painting, Mercedes has done illustration work for magazines, including The New Yorker. Her paintings are included in collections all over the world. She currently lives in Madrid, Spain, with her husband and son.
