Larry Ditto has been photographing nature subjects for over 40 years...full time for 15 years. His focus has been in the south Texas area, but he also photographs in several other states in the midwest and west. He recently contributed photos with Kathy Adams Clark for a new book from Far Country Press titled "Texas, a Photographic Journey". Many of his images are in "Texas Wildlife Portfolio" and other books. He has photos published regularly in Texas Parks Wildlife and Texas Highways magazines as well as Bird Watcher's Digest and various other national periodicals and calendars. In 2000, he won the prestigious Valley Land Fund Wildlife Photo Contest along with Greg Lasley.
After receiving a BS degree in Wildlife Science from Texas A&M University, he worked for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for 29 years as a Refuge Manager in the National Wildlife Refuge System. His science background has given him a huge advantage in pursuing nature photography and in leading seminars and workshops.
He leads several nature photography workshops and instructional Photo tours each year. When not shooting, he is judging photography contests or conducting lectures at various nature festivals across the state.
