Mark Cabral
Mark Cabral was born into an environment where linguistic tools had real significance. Mark's mother was an Egyptologist, a field where symbolism is an integral part of communication.
This interest in the workings of linguistics and codes lasted well into high school, when it was crystallized into painting and printmaking. He exhibited firm talent in this media and acquired extensive skills in printmaking through internships with local artists. After high school Mark moved to Chicago to further his study through the many museums and galleries there.
Mark further refined his technical approach to etching, while studying the expansive collection of The Glore Print Room. His study of both early Renaissance engravings and contemporary masters defined Mark's conceptual approach to etching. The result is a unique, postmodern treatment of semiotics and color, with simple, understated, and effective imagery.
Mark has gained global renown, and is exhibited and collected across the United States and abroad.
