Marie Brown

Marie is an artist based in Nottingham, UK. She works with pencil and pastel to create highly detailed and realistic drawings, while also exploring a looser style in watercolor. Combining her love for animals and art, she rekindled her passion for drawing 20 years ago. What began as a hobby soon developed into a small side business specializing in pet portrait commissions. Her ambition to become a professional artist grew over the years. While balancing family life as a mother of two and working as an embroidery digitizer, she found ways to fit her art around her busy schedule. In 2020, she was able to turn her dream into reality by becoming a full-time artist. Now, she divides her time between commissioned portraits and creating artwork for her print and greetings card collections. Inspired by animals, wildlife, and nature, she is drawn to images that evoke a sense of joy and hopes to share that uplifting feeling through her art.
