Orchestrating colors to highlight forms and space, John McCormick’s paintings reflect complex harmonies and sensations.
An expert at manipulating the properties of color, McCormick blends and combines specific tones while separating others to produce a desired effect.
Originally from St. Paul, Minnesota, McCormick earned his art degree from the University of the Pacific and has exhibited in the United States and abroad ever since. He was one of ten "Selected Western Artists" included in a show at the United States Embassy in Moscow, and was awarded a residency for the year 2000, as well as a one-man exhibition, at the Triton Museum. McCormick’s paintings are featured in more than 150 private and corporate collections, including Stanford University and The Deutsche Bank in San Francisco. He is represented by galleries across the country and maintains a studio in San Francisco.
