H. Marshall Gardiner

H. Marshall Gardiner was born in Windsor, Ontario in 1884. He first arrived in Nantucket in 1910 and immediately began chronicling the island's beauty and landscape using the then modern gelatin dry plate method of photography.

Using large view cameras for the best clarity possible, Gardiner took literally thousands of exposures over the next thirty years, many of which ended up as the now highly collectible post cards.
