Elissa Gore’s atmospheric paintings depict the light from luminous skies as it brushes grassy fields and glitters on water.
Whether painting on canvas or on paper in her unique combination of watercolor and oil pastel, she captures serene moments in the rural landscape.
Gore was born in Philadelphia, lives in New York City and the Catskills. She studied at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Design. Her work has been shown extensively nationally and is included in over 50 public and corporate collections. She teaches at the New York Botanical Garden.
When we look at a landscape we perceive two different kinds of light.
