A clinical psychologist and nature photographer, Michel Hersen has had a varied career. He turned to nature photography a few years before retiring from academia where he had several professorships in medical schools and psychology departments, did research, wrote many scientific papers and books, had three deanships, and edited seven journals. His photography is inspired by the Hudson River School of painting (which he collects). As a published photographer he has won a number of prizes. His work often has been published in Nature Photographer, where he is a Field Contributor.
