Eighty years ago Pablo Picasso created his epic work “Guernica” in response to the atrocities of the Spanish Civil War. To commemorate the anniversary of this important work, the Meadows Museum is currently hosting the exhibition “Picasso’s Dream and Lie of Franco: The Spanish Civil War in Print” through July 2, 2017. Included are a pair of prints from the collection of the Meadows Museum titles “Dream and Lie of Franco” made during a period that inspired many works on paper (posters, cartoons, postcards, and illustrations), along with a set of posters from this period providing context.
