Urban Cricket was developed by a pair of roommates (Gloria Erani & Audrey Nasar) in a small New York City apartment to the sounds of garbage trucks barreling down East 28th Street in the wee hours of the morning. What started with a pen and ink rendering of a vintage Polaroid camera soon turned into an exploration of aesthetics and ideas. Drawings were made, concepts were fleshed out, silkscreening was learned and in April of 2009 the first folding table was set up in Union Square. All products are designed and illustrated by one or both Gloria and Audrey in their studio/store at 29 Essex Street in New York City.
