On Saturday November 20^th, the new Art of the America’s Wing of the prestigious Museum of Fine Arts Boston opens to the public.  This expansion has enabled the museum to showcase over 5,000 works from its collection of masterpieces from the Americas, more than twice the number previously on view. 

The new 121,307-square-foot wing designed by Foster + Partners (London) spans 4 floors and features 53 galleries showcasing works from ancient American to the 20^th Century.  Spaces have been allocated for monumental paintings which haven’t been on view for decades due to lack of large-scale exhibition space.  One such image is The Passage of the Delaware, 1819 by Thomas Sully, which we have published in 2 sizes.
