According the Adobe’s annual visual trend forecast, “silence and solitude” is one of six themes trending for 2018. It’s easy to see why consumers would be drawn to calming images following a year full of political strife and a constant flood of information bombarding Americans who spend an average of more than 10 hours a day in front of screens (according to a 2016 study).

Pantone has confirmed that their 2018 color of the year would be Ultra-Violet, a dramatically provocative and thoughtful shade of purple. The color is said to communicate “originality, ingenuity, and visionary thinking that points us toward the future.”
