Recipes from Georgia O'Keeffe's Kitchen - New Cookbook Launches Inspired by the Artist

A newly released cookbook titled “Dinner with Georgia O’Keeffe” reveals that the acclaimed artist was as passionate about food and cooking as she was about art. Australian author and photographer Robyn Lea spent months in New Mexico researching O’Keeffe’s newspaper and magazine clippings along with handwritten recipes. Based on these materials Lea composed and photographed finished dishes in rustic setting alongside black and white photos of O’Keeffe at home in her kitchen cooking and entertaining guests. She made food from scratch using exotic natural ingredients long before it became trendy. Her home in Abiquiui was built to her specifications and was an environment where her studio, food, art, and surrounding nature lived in balance. Included are 50 recipes with focus on the connection between food and art in O’Keeffe’s life. Read more about the book here and see the Georgia O’Keeffe Print Collection.
